What Counts as Qualifying Expenses
Qualifying expenses include tuition to a nonpublic school or a base curriculum that covers at a minimum, the four core subjects of English language arts, math, science, and social studies. Then, it could pay for tutoring in the four core subjects, textbooks, reasonable transportation to and from the nonpublic school, and certain academic testing.
Unlike Empowering Parents grants, qualifying expenses in this program don’t include expenses for extracurricular or nonacademic activities.
Expenses that Might Qualify
Advanced Placement exams
Base curriculum that includes the four core subjects, at a minimum
College admission tests
Industry-recognized certification exams
Nationally standardized assessments and preparatory courses
Tuition or fees for nonpublic school that includes the four core subjects
Textbooks
Transportation costs
Tutoring for the four core subjects
